Dear Friends,

we have collected together a number of photographs from the SuperDARN2000 workshop. Most of the photographs are from the social events and we hope they provide a momento of the lighter side of the workshop.

The photographs are stored as jpeg files linked to the captions in the text below (i.e. click on the caption to see the photograph).

We have done are best to identify people featured in the photographs and list them in the caption, however, if we have made any mistakes or left anyone out, please accept our apologies.

Thanks to our photographers, Theo Davies (TD), Ralph Gallagher (RG), Danny Radcliffe (DR), Noora Partamies (NP) and Jim Whittington (JW).

Please enjoy,

the SuperDARN 2000 organising committee.

Beechworth Township

For those who did not have time to wander through the town (or forgot their camera), here are a few shots of Beechworth. Beechworth is a former gold mining town with many magnificent buildings dating from the mid to late 1800's. All of the following were photographed by Jim Whittington (JW).

The SuperDARN 2000 Participants Group Photo

The SuperDARN 2000 Participants Group Photo (photographed by Theo Davies) was taken on the Thursday afternoon, in the gardens near the conference venue. Unfortunately, some people are hidden in the shadows while others are washed out by sunlight. This has made the identification of some participants rather difficult, we hope the names are listed correctly, however, if there are any errors please accept our apologies. Should you wish to investigate the image further here is the original scanned image.

Snow

On the morning of Sunday, May 28, Beechworth experienced its largest snowfall for almost 40 years. While a snow fall of around 20cm (8in) is no big deal in many other countries, in Australia, apart from our higher mountains, a white landscape is a rare event. Anyway, we thought you might appreciate a few photos of the Beechworth campus two days after the workshop finished.

TIGER Opening - The Movie

Finally, thanks to Ray Morris and the multi-media people of the Antarctic Division, here is the movie from the TIGER opening.

If you don't have Quicktime installed, or some other viewer for MOV files, that probably hasn't worked too well.
