The photos below show the new versions of the high voltage DC - DC convertors designed at La Trobe University. They are far more reliable than Version 1 that were very unreliable.
The DC-DC convertors below particularly the Version 2 design are now used in many SuperDARN radars around the world. Version 3 is a 400V DC-DC convertor is used in our Unwin Radar
located in New Zealand. The Unwin radar is a Stereo version generating two beams simulateonusly, so it draws a larger amount of current and hence Version 3 was designed to cope with its demands.
