| This amplifier is based on Motorola's Application Note, AN758, and delivers 50W across the HF band. It uses two MRF429 NPN transistors in parallel, and requires a 50V DC power supply. This amplifier is used in our Mono-radar system (single beam) at Bruny Island, where the 50W RF amplifier is the Driver Amplifier to the final stage of the 600W Power Amplifier. The Unwin radar is a Stereo radar (two beams) and the 50W RF amplifier has been configured to be a 300W RF Driver Amplifier to 600W Power Amplifier stage. |
